There, on a circular magazine rack, a magical world suddenly revealed itself to me. It was a world filled with men of steel, women of wonder and uncanny heroes; and it transformed me into the comic book geek that I still am to this very day.

It's kind of funny, because I really have to credit my mother with nurturing this grown, video-gaming, comic booking reading woman that I am today. I mean, how many single mothers would drive an hour and a half to a comic book store just so their child could fill out their X-Men collection? We still laugh about it today.
